Younce Guitar Duo Motown & Soul Tribute

Friday, January 8

Soul music legends like, Marvin Gaye, Bill Withers, The Temptations, The Impressions, Stevie Wonder, Al Greene, Gladys Knight, Aretha Franklin, Otis Redding, Tina Turner, Diana Ross, The Drifters, Jackie Wilson, Sam Cooke, Ben E. King and other soul music artists gave the world the songs and sound that is soul music. The Younce Guitar Duo is joined by Detroit bassist Ray Shamma along with Detroit drummer Chris Fricke in support of featured vocalist Samantha Robbins in a tribute to these many Motown & Soul musicians. Samantha has an authentic stylistic diversity, gracefully singing the blues, jazz and American folk in a way that few could pull off so eloquently. With a voice that truly plucks at the audience’s heartstrings, Sam Robbins sings with a power and soul that betrays her youth. She effortlessly guides her audience on an emotional voyage. Samantha has picked some favorite classic soul songs to sing. Some of these are sentimental songs and some are straight ahead, heart pounding, driving, soulful vamps. The Younce Guitar Duo brings a unique sound and energy to this music and bassist Ray Shamma and drummer Chris Fricke make the rhythms cook. Together they present some of the finest popular songs ever recorded in a Motown & Soul Tribute.
