The Younce Guitar Duo along with special guest Robin Lee Berry will be performing standards, original songs and
altered classics. Robin Lee Berry, a native of Michigan, started a professional career in the folk clubs of East Lansing in the late 1970′s. A few years of touring with small children brought her home to northern Michigan to put some roots down and perform, write music and record creating three CD’s.After 20 years of performing in clubs and festivals Robin is currently recording in her own home studio and raising children while building exotic cedar furniture with her husband through their company www.logartinc.com
The Younce Guitar Duo is an inspiring acoustic guitar instrumental duo with dynamic to behold. Together they carve out a time, space and sound that is uniquely balanced, rich with imaginative approach, expression and distinctive guitar interchange. Their music embraces jazz while being vibrantly connected through many genres of music, playing original compositions and original arrangements of well-known songs. Creative and innovative, while accessible and audience friendly, the Younce Guitar Duo’s music is beautifully spoken, intuitively spirited and is played with virtuosity and soul.
Seth Bernard was born and raised on a farm in Lake City, Michigan. After graduating from Lake City High School, Seth opted for a postgraduate year at Interlochen Arts Academy where he studied theatre, music and poetry. As a performer, Seth is equally at home playing his introspective, socially-charged ballads as he is joining a 10 piece electric ensemble on lead vocals, bass, steel or electric guitar. He can shred with the best of them, but also bring it home with stylish, mellow fingerpicking. His singing is intimate and raw. In his latest recording effort, This Here, Seth’s abilities at orchestration are apparent. With nearly 30 participating musicians representing the best of the Michigan folk, jazz and roots scenes, the album is nothing less than epic. It moves with theatric intent, and perhaps the greatest triumphs are the transitions between tunes—each carefully contemplated—bridging themes and ideas throughout the entire piece, the first of a two part life cycle. The second album in the series can be expected to hit the airwaves in the coming months.
