The Liberator

To pay homage to the original hop headed hero of Short’s Brewing Company, this beer was made as a 30th birthday gift for Joe Short. A double IPA, this beast employs a sizable malt bill, but it’s the ridiculous amounts of hops added to the boil every 4 minutes, for 120 minutes, that showcases this beer. A fruity, floral, piney intensity of hops penetrates through the caramelized malt profile. This well balanced, full bodied brew finishes bitter with a punch of fresh citrus from the addition of lemon and orange zest post fermentation.

This needs to be on the full time menu, for as potent of a beer that its is, it is very smooth
I second the motion to make this a full time offering! I stocked up with a couple of cases, but will run out well before next Jan.
IMO, this is the most pungent DIPA on the market, which I enjoy much more than the sweetness and thickness of something like HopSlam.
This would be a GREAT summer beer. I can’t believe I have to wait till December for it.
Just cracked open my first bottle of this delicious brew. I must say this is one of your best! Packing a wonderfully tart whollop, the citrus punches you in the taste buds. Goes perfect with my Labor day green chili cheese burger. Thanks again Short’s for making a trip to the Whole Foods even more of a delight!

This is the best beer ever…ever…should always be available and be plentiful…does anyone know the precise abv. of this beer? I’m curious cuz it packs a wallop…stellar job once again shorts! I’m proud to be from Michigan when i drink a beer like this one…Thank you and happy drinking to all…JD

Yea the Liberator is soooo good! I love the zesty finish. The ABV% is 8% and the IBU is a whopping 300!
