Origin Story
Based off a homebrewing recipe that Joe called Humulius Lupulius Maximus. Started as Joe's quest for the perfect IPA. Huma Lupa Licious is a beer of firsts here at Short’s. Originally brewed on 4/30/2004 and simply labeled as “IPA”, Huma Lupa Licious was the first pint of beer officially sold at the pub. In 2006, Huma was the first Short’s mainstay to be bottled in Bellaire, and for many, Huma Lupa Licious is their first introduction to an India Pale Ale of such complexity. Huma, best described by its tagline “A complex hop and malt theme park in your mouth,” boasts not one, not two, but FIVE distinct hop varieties.
