Obliviate

Obliviate is a Belgian-style Quadrupel.

Obliviate is a caramel brown colored Belgian Quadrupel with fruity aromatics of black cherry and apple, alongside the looming presence of notable alcohol vapors. Sweet brown sugar and hard candy flavors transition quickly to a warming, almost hot mouthfeel. The lingering effect of the high alcoholic strength creates a slight dryness, as if it evaporates from the palate.

Origin Story

So I like making traditional styles of beer and a Belgian Quad (which is pretty much just a Belgian Strong Ale) was one I wanted to make. The original name "Oblivion" though has a funnier story. My wife works for the Bellaire Bed and Breakfast and one of her bosses, David Shulz, who is also the Village President and mug club member at Shorts, pitched the name. I was talking to him one day and he asked me if I could ever make him a beer it would have to be really strong so after one he could sink into Oblivion :). Since that name was taken, I was talking to my Wife Monica, who is a Harry Potter fanatic and she said what about Obliviate. So yeah I can only take credit for the beer not the name.
