Short's Shandy

Origin Story

"The idea for this beer spawned from when a friend of my wife's asked me to homebrew her a beer for her upcoming wedding. When asked what her favorite beer was she responded with Leinenkugel Summer Shandy. As you may imagine my face kind of dropped and I found myself at a loss for words. But I then thought, perhaps I can do this and make it better! However, my homebrew equipment happens to be scattered around at different friends houses, so I asked Tony and Joe if I could borrow the companies homebrew equipment, and source the ingredients I need from Bellaire. They said "yes", and Tony also mentioned that if turned out good, we could possibly end up making a batch on the pub system. Then of course, in true Short's fashion, we bypassed the test batch and just went for it. I created a American wheat beer hopped with Sorachi Ace, which have lemony flavors to them, and then we blended this with Northwoods Gourmet Lemonade. The end result is an official Short's Northern Michigan style Shandy made with Northern Michigan lemonade...It can't get much better than that.
