Rosen Rye Pilsner

Pilsner brewed with Michigan malt and hops

Our neighbors at Mammoth Distilling had the opportunity to resurrect a forgotten grain—Rosen Rye—out on South Manitou island with our friends from Great Lakes Malting. Once we got our hands on the malt we scored some local hops (Cascade and Saaz hops from Hop Alliance out in Omena if you’re wondering) and got to work. The resulting Pilsner is crisp and dry, a little spicy, a touch earthy, with notes of baked bread and biscuits—it’s so so unique and embodies the passion for agriculture and what happens when folks care so hard about bringing a legacy back to life.
