My Own Best Friend is a dry hopped Belgian Pale Ale.

My Own Best Friend is a dry hopped Belgian Pale Ale. Slightly hazy and light orange in color, this beer has prominent Belgian aromas of clove and banana blending with light melon and citrus. Medium bodied with a light smooth mouthfeel, there are some slightly spicy notes mixed with bread, clove, banana, and honey dew. My Own Best Friend is refreshing with a smooth, dry, slightly hoppy finish.

Origin Story

Ryan Hale: I created the recipe based on needing a "dry hopped Belgian ale". So in the tradition of many Belgian "specialty" ales I didn't really go by any style guidelines, but if we want to put a style to it we can wait for the results to come back on ABV and IBU. I also chose to use all Huell Melon hops because I thought those honey dew notes would go really well with the Belgian esters! Also the name comes from one of John Candy's lines from the movie Spaceballs!
