Origin Story

Short's was nice enough to allow me to brew a special beer for my Wife's(Merissa) Brother, Devin. One of her family members started a fundraiser in hopes of getting Devin a handicap accessible van, as the one he has access to now is beyond repair. What really touched our hearts was the fact that a HUGE majority of the donations for Devin's GofundMe, were coming from Short's employees and other Bellaire community members. This was so greatly appreciated and unexpected. We truly are a family here, and it's a wonderful feeling. Scott Newman-Bale then approached Merissa, and offered to do some type of fundraiser at the pub for Devin. With major help from SNB, Erin K, and others, we were able to make this fundraiser possible. We decided on making a special beer called "Picture Me Rollin', which is a 2pac song that Devin is a big fan of. Merissa came up with the name, and I thought it couldn't be more perfect. Given the time of year I wanted to make a nice tropical Brut IPA with some of my favorite hops(at the moment), and a touch of cranberry. I won't go too much into the "inside baseball" of making the recipe, but I hope you enjoy this tart, tropical, citrusy, hoppy, not bitter, finishing dry beverage. I'm really happy with how it turned out, and I can't thank the people involved with making this happen enough. Drink the hell out of this tomorrow JULY 17th, and support a beyond worthy young man.
