Origin Story

Slow Jam is a brand new stout proposed by one of our Pub Managers and Live Music Booking Agent Extraordinaire, Rob Lewis! I believe that this is the first concept beer of Rob's that we have brewed, but may be mistaken. Always best to let the creator explain where the source of inspiration came from, here is Rob's explanation of where the idea for this super appealing experimental stout came from. The idea first started when I was driving through Kingsley this summer and was passing all the fresh strawberry stands. I stopped and bought some fresh strawberries for the drive downstate. I kept thinking how delicious they were and began to think of a darker style of beer they could be incorporated into. At first, I was leaning towards a brown ale, and then Brewski Bash Party details started coming together and I presented the concept of a chocolate covered strawberry stout to Ryan. As for the name, credit goes to Tony, as he said if you are eating chocolate covered strawberries, you should be listening to a slow jaamm. - Rob Lewis
