Consume the Haze

Hazy ControversiALE, an opaque and super juicy variation of our favorite American India Pale Ale, is shipping out to Michigan store shelves and taps this week. There’s nothing subliminal about today’s They Live inspired release – no glasses required. It’s time to consume the haze!

Hazy ControversiALE (6% ABV) is an American India Pale Ale brewed with Simcoe hops and dry hopped with Simcoe powder. Moderately hazy and copper-colored, this beer has a slightly off-white head with aromas of citrus, caramel, and toasted grain. This variation on Short’s classic, ControversiALE, has more prominent citrus notes and a juicier mouth feel in comparison to the original. A strong malt backbone allows the flavor of Simcoe hops to shine before a slightly bitter finish.

Originally omitted from our 2017 release schedule, we realized this summer that there’d be nothing worse than a year without a tribute to Simcoe hops. With requests pouring in, our brewers went to work developing a new take on our favorite earthy, citrusy, and piney brew. This hazy variation of ControversiALE will leave you clamoring for more. Available in bottles ONLY in Michigan, we suggest you stock up on Hazy ControversiALE soon. You never know who’s going to show up looking to drink Short’s brews and kick ass…and you wouldn’t want to be all out of beer!
