Stout Season Is Upon Us

This winter our brewers were inspired to create a new lineup of stouts that will be sure to amaze our pub-goers.  If you’re in the area, stop in to try these delicious new brews:

Yer My Boy Blue: A sweet blueberry milk stout made with 8 different malt varieties, a heap of real blueberries, and milk sugar. The intriguing fruit-filled aroma leads perfectly into the zippy, tart blueberry flavor, followed by the smoothness of roast mixed with delicate cream. A slight, dry bitterness resides in the finish thanks to the dark specialty grains. 7.5% ABV, 47 IBU.

Dirty Sturks (Nitrogen Infused Double Chocolate Stout): A dark black stout with an enticing chocolaty lace and sweet matching aroma. Milk chocolate and roasted malt fuse together creating the perfect marriage of flavors. Enhanced by a creamy, decadent mouthfeel. Mild cocoa like bitterness compliments this indulgent experience. 8.2 % ABV, 14 IBU.

Ben’s Asthma: A high ABV, pitch-black stout brewed with Medjool dates and a whopping malt bill. A sweet initial flavor is followed by a pleasant mouth-warming sensation caused by the high alcohol content quickly follows and lingers well beyond the finish. 11% ABV, 72 IBU.

Empress Catherine: A dark opaque stout with sweet aromas of molasses and black currants. Rich flavors of dark chocolate and heavy roast provide a malty balance to the pronounced bitterness in the finish, commonly found in big Imperial Stouts. 8% ABV, 55 IBU.

S’more Stout: A complex stout brewed with graham cracker, milk chocolate, marshmallow, and smoked malt. The rich, hearty flavors take turns on your tongue as the subtle graham aromas lead pleasantly into sweet flavors of marshmallow cream covered in milk chocolate, followed by a slight, lingering flavor of smoke. A flaming marshmallow garnish is strongly encouraged. 6.5% ABV, 30 IBU.

Uber Goober: You’ll taste the handful of peanuts that we brew into every glass, which are nicely complimented by rich aromas of chocolate. Creamy oatmeal, fused with peanut puree, combines perfectly with the caramel and roasted grain flavors of the malt. 6.4% ABV, 24 IBU.

If all of this is making you thirsty but a trip to Bellaire is not in your future, don’t worry. We’ve just released Cup A Joe coffee stout throughout the state in bottles and kegs. Cup A Joe is uniquely different from most coffee stouts in that we cram Higher Grounds roasted fair trade espresso beans into every facet of the brewing process. Prominent aromatics of malt, espresso, and cocoa are abundant and create a flavor robust with big malt characters fused with cream and coffee. The perfect morning nightcapper. 6.8% ABV, 18  IBU.
