Hearty and distinct malted rye dominates the flavor profile, with slight traces of sweetness from other specialty grains. Heavy hop additions compound with an intense rye dryness, leaving its signature peppery mark on the magnified bitter finish.

Origin Story
Quasars, which stands for Quasi-stellar radio sources, tend to inhabit the very center of active, young galaxies, and are among the most luminous, powerful, and energetic objects known in the universe, emitting up to a thousand times the energy output of the Milky Way, which contains 200–400 billion stars. Quasars show a very high redshift, which is an effect of the expansion of the universe between the quasar and the Earth. Because of this, Tony wanted the appearance of this space themed beer to be red in color, due to these extremely luminous high redshift sources of electromagnetic energy that were first used to identify the existence of Quasars. He achieved this by using a very small amount of Chocolate malt, which doesn't come through in the flavor, but had a profound impact on the beer's final color, giving it one last cool twist to go along with it's cosmic flavor profile.Hops

The name Quasar Dank was simply the result of two friendly co-workers taking a goofy approach to a fictional beer series by giving it a "space theme". Over a couple of beers and an extremely boring lecture that didn't pertain to either of their fields of expertise, Tyler Glaze and Sean Cudahy started to jot down some silly conceptual notes to pass the time. From those came the idea for a spaced out beer series that included the name for many beers, one in particular being Quasar Dank. With no specific instructions as to what the beer would be, Tony fittingly applied this fun sounding name to a new idea he had for a bold flavored assertively hopped rye ale.
