Cone Thugs

Milk Stout Brewed with Waffle Cones, Cacoa Nibs, and Milk Sugar

A nitrogen infused Milk Stout brewed with waffle cones, cacoa nibs, and milk sugar. Dark brown in color with enticing sweet aromas of chocolate syrup and toffee, the initial tastes are sweet and sugary, with some toasted vanilla wafer qualities. The mouthfeel is silky smooth and full, allowing big coco flavors to resonate with a slight bitterness in the finish.

Origin Story

This brand new stout was brought to us through the collaborative efforts of Tyler Glaze and Luke Whitley. In their own words, Cone Thugs derives from some initial silliness that actually started to make sense the more thought that went into it: Luke- I was playing "Crossroadz" by Bone Thugs one day in the brewery, and Skinny came in and thought I was playing it specially for him. He explained Tyler's idea for an ice cream cone shop named Cone Thugs. I loved the name, and told Skinny we should name a beer that. We were shooting ideas back and forth for the rest of the day about what style of beer it should be, and things like that. That got the mental wheels turning, and that was the birth of Cone Thugz: Milk Stout with waffle cones and cacao nibs. I thought we could add the ice cream cones in as a "Dry Hop". At the time we were beginning to come up with ideas for the upcoming Stout release. I thought a milk stout with a waffle cone "Dry Hop", served on Nitrogen, sounded fantastic. I made up a recipe (My first ever Stout recipe), and Tony approved it. Ryan suggested adding Cacao nibs as well, so those were also added into secondary fermentation. Tyler- Cone Thugz was a name I came up with while eating ice cream this past Summer. I developed a fake business plan for the ice cream shop franchise company as a joke. I told Nicholas about it and he spilled the beans to you guys. The ice cream cone sizes would feature the names of the artists: Wish Cone, Baby Cone, Lazy Cone, etc. There would also be a Cone Coupon given out on "tha first of tha month" for free ice cream. Every time the cash register would ring up an order you would hear "Cone cone cone cone cone cone cone," just as the Bone Thugs would say, "bone bone bone bone bone bone bone." Flavors would include, "Bump in da trunk", " Tha Crossroads", and "Thuggish Ruggish." They would be Brownie Bite, Rocky Road w/Malt (liquor) Balls, and Black Cherry and Menthol respectively."
