ERMAGERDNESS

American India Pale Ale

A light-bodied, golden-colored India Pale Ale with zesty tangerine and pineapple aromatics. A simplified malt bill, along with some signature American hops, allows for an awesome burst of tropical fruit flavors up front. It then shifts toward an interesting herbal tasting bitterness, which builds and lingers on the back of the palate.

Origin Story

I thought this up one night last winter while brewing on third shift. I was brainstorming hop blends and thought that Galaxy/Mosaic/Citra would be really tasty. I am a big fan of really hoppy APAs (Three Floyds: Alpha King, Hill Farmstead: Edward) so I just plugged that hop blend into a simple APA malt bill. --Al.

Name Origin

When I first sent Tony the recipe I couldn't think of a name and called it "Ermahgerd" as a silly place holder. I actually came up with a real name, but Tony must have forgotten and later the name morphed into "ERMAGERDNESS" which is much more hilarious/awesome than what I had thought up. If the pub staff doesn't already hate me for the name OMGWTFBBQ, they definitely will now. --Al.
