Today we bring you Bourbon Barrel Aged Ein Freund in honor of “Smokehouse Tim.” We chose to brew a Belgian Double IPA because it was his favorite style of beer. We then aged this brew in bourbon barrels for 11 months. 22 bombers will be available exclusively at Short’s Mart on December 30th. Enjoy a bottle or two in Tim’s honor. Prost!
Bourbon Barrel Aged Ein Freund (10.3% ABV – 70 IBU) is a Belgian Double IPA aged in bourbon barrels for 11 months. Brewed in honor of our friend, “Smokehouse Tim,” this Belgian Double IPA is burnt orange in color with a slight haze. Aromas of bourbon and citrus lead into scents of caramel and bubblegum esters. An initial bourbon flavor is complemented by flavors of citrus and caramel. Bourbon Barrel Ein Freund is medium-bodied, easy-drinking, unique, and engaging, just like Tim!
