Coffee, maybe better known as “the elixir of life” is pretty important to us here at Short’s. With brewers and cellarmen making and caring for our beer round the clock and thirsty Short’s fans visiting the pub year-round, we know our coffee, just like our beer must be of the highest quality.
Our go to? Coffee straight from Higher Grounds Trading Company based in Traverse City. Quite literally, Higher Grounds coffee helps fuel Short’s Brewing Company. So naturally, we’re happy to share a little of our shortsified “cup a joe” with you.
Our 2015 (and 2014) People’s Choice Winner, Cup A Joe Coffee Creme Stout (7% ABV – 35 IBU) uses Higher Grounds roasted fair trade espresso beans in every facet of the brewing process. Prominent aromatics of malt, espresso, and cocoa are abundant, and there are robust flavors of cream and coffee. No worries friends, we took it upon ourselves to ensure this brew is released in bottles again in 2016. No voting necessary!
