The White Pine Stampede is a point-to-point cross-country ski race that begins in Mancelona and finishes at Shanty Creek Resorts in Belliare. The event has been held on the first Saturday of February every year since 1977, with the exception of last year when there was not enough snow. The race offers 3 choices: a 40 km race, a 20 km race, and a 10 km non-competitive event for those who wish to take a more leisurely trip.
Short’s Team Huma will compete, so join us during the event and after the race at the Short’s “Cooldown” area in the Bellaire Ballroom at Shanty Creek’s Summit Lodge, starting at 1pm. Relax with the crew, enjoy $1.00 Short’s brews, watch the slide show of the days events, and enjoy the music of The Younce Guitar Duo. The “Cooldown” will culminate with the White Pine Awards Ceremony, begining at 3pm, which includes some fun Short’s prizes for the winners.
