Huma-Lupa-Licious

Named after the hop flower Humulus Lupulus, this best selling India pale ale style beer has enormous amounts of hops which really seems like a punch in the face.  Hop flowers from the numerous strains used in this recipe render a delicious bitter taste and enticing citrus aroma.  Flavors from a hearty malt bill meld with the hops to balance this ale and provide a ridiculous urge to sample more.

My dad took me to Bellaire for my 20th birthday for a golf trip. Little did I know the main reason for the four hour drive was so he could have this beer on tap

I’m a heavy handed hops lover. Your beer Huma Lumpa Licious hit the bulls eye! Thank you very much.

I really hope to see Short’s Brew at the World Beer Expo in Frankenmuth this spring.

Great IPA!

WOW! Very, very awesome IPA with a lot more happening than just hop overload. Just bought today at Binny’s in IL. Great job!

Loved the beer, I was hooked on Hopslam, but its gone, Huma-Lupa-licious taste just as good, without the honey, now I’m hooked on yours, what is the alchohol content?

A local pub near my home has this on tap and I love it. It smells and tastes absolutely delicious. Thank you for creating this delicious beverage. I’ll be visiting the brewery this summer for sure.

Huma Lupa is far and away the best beer I have ever had. At the first sip, it seemed to have an unusually strong hops flavor, but I quickly adapted. It is super smooth and has a very pleasant aftertaste. Please keep up the excellent work.

Favorite beer, love it! what is the Alcohol %?

Vasili June 15, 2010 at 10:34 pm

I love this IPA. alot of the popular ones out there are very sweet and syrupy tasting. i like my beers dry. this one is perfect.

I must confess (and sorry to mention your competitor, Bell’s Two Hearted of which I’m also a fan and when I’m rarely willing to part with $15 -$16/six, HopSlam) but this is an outstanding IPA and given the choice, I’d probably opt for the Huma Lupa Liscious. I did not think I’d find a replacement for Bells IPA but this has earned a spot in my fridge this summer. Great Hop/Malt balance – Well done!

At Stone brewery in escondido CA, missing human-lupa-licious!

The Huma Lupa has just topped my list ahead of Founder’s IPA and New Holland Mad Hatter. (However, those are great beers as well)

Bring it full force to Chicago. A couple underground places have had it, but we need it legally! So damn good.

Awesome, awesome beer. I tasted it a few years ago, and just recently bought a six pack. The slogan “a theme park in your mouth” is dead on, it’s an explosion of hops! Love it!

Had a pint a Travelers Club and Tuba Museum in Okemos MI. Awesome beer, seriously i was blown away. This beer has hops as far as the eye can see, and thats how a beer should taste. Good job guys.
