If you’re asking yourself, “What should I be drinking this week?” this post is for you! With Memorial Day and the unofficial start to summer taking place this weekend, we wanted to make you a quick guide to just which brews should be tickling your tastebuds right now and give you a sneak peek at what to look for on store shelves soon.
For this edition of the Short’s (and Starcut Ciders) Mixed Six we recommend:
Ocho de Mayo: Ocho de Mayo, a margarita inspired Gose Ale, hit store shelves earlier this month. If you see this beer at your favorite taproom or store, be sure to give it a try. It’s the perfect companion to a plate of tacos on a sunny afternoon. Ocho is only available in bottles in the mitten state this spring.
Hopstache: If you’re looking for the ultimate citrus IPA, look no further. Hopstache, an American IPA amplified with real grapefruit intensity, is currently available and going fast. This highly anticipated specialty brew was released last week. Hopstache is juicy, fragrant, and deliciously sharp in flavor. This brew is only available in bottles in our home state, Michigan.
Beard of Zeus: Beard of Zeus or BOZ made a surprise appearance in our release schedule. Our crafty brewers couldn’t imagine going another year without this India Pale Lager. BOZ is now available in bottles and on tap in Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania.
Nicie: Our seasonal American Wheat Ale, Nicie hits store shelves and bar taps this week. You may notice this brew’s label looks a little different, but we promise, Nicie’s signature recipe (brewed with orange zest, lemon zest, coriander, and a hint of peppercorn) hasn’t changed one bit. Additionally, Nicie will be available in cans in the coming weeks.
Nicie Week, a celebration of the release of Nicie is now taking place at locations across the state of Michigan. Nicie will make its way to Indiana, Ohio, Illinois, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania in early June. Nicie will also be featured at our Summer Kick Off Party taking place on June 18th, 2016 at the pub in Bellaire.
Immortal Jelly: Just in time for summer, we’re giving you a brand new cider in bottles and on tap. Immortal Jelly is a semi-dry hard cider fermented with Michigan apples and a blend of strawberries, blackberries, raspberries, and blueberries. If that blend sounds familiar to you, you’re not having deja vu. Immortal Jelly is inspired by the flavors of Short’s flagship Fruit Rye Ale, Soft Parade. Look for Immortal Jelly in Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, Illinois, Wisconsin, and Colorado.
Freedom of ‘78: COMING SOON! Freedom of ‘78, our original Half Acre collaboration brew will be released in Michigan, Indiana, Illinois, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin in early June. This guava filled, Ween themed brew is an absolute must have.
